Hope & Healing During Alcohol Awareness Month

Lindsey Centanni, CADC-ll

Program Director

With over eight years of experience as the Program Director at Fresh Start of California, I have led the clinical and operational aspects of a residential treatment facility dedicated to providing comprehensive, individualized care for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. As a CADC-II credentialed professional, I bring extensive expertise in addiction counseling, group facilitation, and intervention. My core competencies include developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, managing and training multidisciplinary teams, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. My mission is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where clients can heal, recover, and work toward their personal and professional goals.. Driven by a deep commitment to holistic healing, I am now expanding my expertise by pursuing a nursing degree, allowing me to bridge the gap between behavioral health and medical care. I believe that true recovery comes from treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to integrate my CADC-II background with nursing to provide comprehensive, compassionate care that supports lasting recovery. I look forward to making a meaningful impact as an RN and addiction specialist, helping individuals reclaim their lives through a multidisciplinary approach to healing.

Understanding Alcohol Addiction & Reclaiming Your Life in Palm Springs

Each April, Alcohol Awareness Month serves as a powerful reminder that help is available, healing is possible, and no one has to walk the path of recovery alone. At Hideaway Recovery, we recognize that alcohol addiction doesn’t just affect the individual—it impacts families, careers, and entire communities. This month, we’re raising awareness and extending our hand to any man ready to reclaim his life from alcohol dependency.

What Is Alcohol Awareness Month?

Established in 1987 by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD), Alcohol Awareness Month is a national initiative that aims to:

• Educate the public about the dangers of alcohol misuse.
• Reduce the stigma surrounding addiction.
• Promote access to treatment and support for those struggling.

Why Alcohol Addiction Is So Common—And So Dangerous

Alcohol is the most widely used addictive substance in the U.S., and it’s easy to normalize regular or excessive drinking—especially in social settings. But behind closed doors, many men silently suffer from the mental, emotional, and physical toll of alcohol dependence.

Unchecked, alcohol addiction can lead to:

• Chronic health conditions (liver disease, heart issues, digestive problems)
• Anxiety, depression, or other co-occurring disorders
• Legal and professional consequences
• Damaged relationships and social isolation
• Life-threatening withdrawal symptoms when trying to quit without support

The First Step: Alcohol Detox in Palm Springs

Quitting alcohol isn’t just about willpower—it’s a medical process that must be handled with care. At Hideaway Recovery, we provide medically supervised alcohol detox in Palm Springs to ensure that each client’s body is safely guided through the withdrawal period.

Detox symptoms can include:

• Shaking or tremors
• Insomnia
• Sweating
• High blood pressure
• Anxiety or depression
• Seizures or hallucinations in severe cases

Our licensed medical team is on-site 24/7 to manage symptoms, provide comfort, and monitor your progress every step of the way.

Moving Beyond Detox: Healing the Root Causes

We understand that alcohol use is often a coping mechanism for deeper pain. That’s why our program goes beyond detox to address the root causes of addiction. In our residential alcohol rehab for men in Palm Springs, clients receive:

• One-on-one therapy sessions with licensed clinicians
• Group therapy for connection and accountability
• Trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment when applicable
• Holistic therapies like mindfulness, fitness, art, and more

Breaking the Stigma

One of the biggest barriers to treatment is shame. Men often feel they need to “tough it out” or handle things on their own. But asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness. Our team is here to provide judgment-free support and help each man reclaim his power, his dignity, and his future.

This April, Choose Healing

Whether you’ve struggled for years or you’re just starting to recognize unhealthy patterns with alcohol, this month is your chance to take a powerful step forward.

At Hideaway Recovery, we believe in second chances. We believe in hope. And we believe in you.
